Initial Conference in Pradaxa Multidistrict Litigation set for October 3, 2012

Boehringer Ingelheim is now facing Multidistrict litigation over its dangerous drug, Pradaxa. The Pradaxa litigation was assigned to Chief Judge, David R. Herndon of the Southern District of Illinois. To date, Case Managment Order No. 1, Initial Conference Order and Procedural Matters, setting the initial conference for 10/3/2012 01:30 PM in East St. Louis Courthouse; and Case Managment Orders 2 & 3, governing confidentiality and document production. Notably, Judge Herndon is also overseeing the Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella birth control Multidistrict litigation. Under Judge Herndon’s supervision, thousands of individuals who suffered injuries ranging from a deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke and death, are now receiving settlements for these injuries that were caused by Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella.

Since entering the market, Pradaxa has caused slew of catastrophic injuries, including severe hemorrhaging and death. Moreover, it led all other medications in the number of deaths and adverse effects reported to the FDA in 2011. Hundreds of patients suffering from such symptoms will be filing lawsuits in state and federal courts around the country to receive compensation for their hardships. Plaintiffs counsel nationwide are committed to try these cases before juries to receive full justice for Pradaxa victims.
