Mr. Johnston was born and raised in Philadelphia and completed all levels of his education in his hometown. He has worked as an intern for former Mayor Edward G. Rendell of Philadelphia (also during his successful campaign to become Governor of Pennsylvania) and for former Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter.
Additionally, Mr. Johnston spent a semester as an intern at The White House in Washington, D.C. during the administration of President Bill Clinton. As a law student, Mr. Johnston worked as a clerk for both a local personal injury firm and for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC).
